Strategic dialogue and reflective practice as a mechanism for organizational
maintenance and enhancement
For each theme addressed by this study, there is potential for additional
progress. The innovations have created a framework for positive change,
but for each theme there is ongoing work to be done in order to assure
maximum benefit and to assure that the gains continue.
A process of individual reflection and group dialogue, carried on throughout
the organization, is an essential component of any plan for organizational
maintenance and enhancement. The subsections that follow suggest starting
points for reflection and dialogue with respect to the themes presented
in this report.
A general introduction to reflective practice is provided by Donald Schon
in, The Reflective Practitioner: How Professionals Think in Action
(Basic Books, 1983).
