Flexibility ResultsQuestionnaire responses indicate significant positive shifts since 1995 in all four items reported here under flexibility:
The following interactive graphic shows OSUES-wide average responses to each of these questions. (Click the question boxes in the column to the right to reveal and hide the response arrows.) Averages for the mid-2001 timeframe are indicated by the orange arrows. Average changes between 1995 and 2001 are indicated by the vertical arrows, which are colored green for significant differences and gray for non-significant differences. (Data table) Three of these four items had NOW means above the average of the 29 NOW means. One, My program area uses new communications technologies when appropriate, received a NOW mean rating that was indistinguishable from the top-rated item (OSU Extension has a group of supporters who are willing and capable at speaking out in behalf of Extension and its funding needs). The second-ranked of these four items, Extension people are committed to adapting our programs and methods to the changing times, is perhaps the most direct gauge among the four of a willingness to adapt their programs as needed. Its score is significantly above the mean of the 29 NOW means. With regard to flexibility, questionnaire responses indicate that the direction of change since 1995 has been positive. All four difference scores (between the "THEN" and NOW ratings) are positive and are significantly greater than zero at the 95% confidence level. The difference score for 5g (new communication technology) is second only to one item ("Departments welcome the involvement of Extension faculty from my program area in departmental and college issues.") |
