Program Area

For only two items, analysis of variance indicates significant differences between groups, by program area, in their NOW means.

5b. Good use of participants’ guidance.
5d. Able to influence research agenda according to the public’s input.

For 5b, the Ag, Forestry, and Sea Grant average NOW ratings are relatively high; F&CD’s is relatively low.
For 5d, the Ag and Sea Grant average NOW ratings are relatively high; the 4-H, F&CD, and Forestry average NOW ratings are relatively low.

Average change (1995-2001), by program area, was generally positive for all questions; for 4-H, most were negative but not significantly less than zero. For only one item did analysis of variance indicate significant differences among groups, by program area, in their Average Change (1995-2001).

5a. My program area listens attentively to the people and communities it serves.

For that item, Forestry, Sea Grant, and F&CD had relatively high (positive) average change. Data table & Significance tests

Location

No significant differences among locations, for NOW means or for Average Change. Data table & Significance tests

Hire Date

Respondents hired after January 1, 1995 gave higher NOW means for 5a (My program area listens attentively…) and 5c (…makes good use of the public’s guidance…).

For most items, average change was positive for respondents hired since 1/1/95 and neutral for those hired earlier. T-tests showed significantly higher average change for the more recently hired respondents.

5c. My program area makes good use of the guidance it receives from the general public to shape its programs.
