 4-H Enrollments
In order to participate in the 2013 Morrow County Fair, your 4-H enrollment is due BEFORE January 31, 2013!
All other non-fair 4-H enrollments (camps, workshops, etc.) are welcome year round! If you have any questions, please contact the 4-H office!

4-H Activity Scholarship Application

Looking for a scholarship to attend any of the below mentioned 4-H opportunities?  Then fill out the form in the link below, and submit with $10 to the 4-H office with your completed event paperwork.  We will not accept scholarship application forms that have been completed by the parent or guardian - we want to hear from the 4-H members on this form!  If you have questions or need more information, please call our office.  Scholarships are based on number of applicants per event.
 
Tri County 4-H Camp: June 21-24, 2013
Join us at the "Wild, Wild West" Tri-County 4-H Camp June 21-24, 2013!  Held at Cutsforth park in southern Morrow County, this camping event will be one you will remember forever.  Meet new friends, enjoy wild west themed classes including outdoor cooking, leathercraft, and dummy roping!  Check out the information below and get your registrations in today!  We have a great group of counselors this year, and are looking forward to another outstanding year at 4-H Camp!
Registrations are now open!  This opportunity is open to all 4th-6th grade students from Morrow, Gilliam and Wheeler counties.  Registration fee is $65 before June 3rd, and $75 after June 3rd!

OSU Summer Conference: June 26-29, 2013

Summer Conference is an opportunity for youth grades 7-12 to travel to Corvallis, explore campus life, make new friends, learn, and have a lot of fun. While here, participants attend workshops on a wide variety of subjects. Over 80 classes are offered including dog agility, a logging site tour, animal anatomy, fly fishing, origami, and etiquette.
In addition to attending workshops, participants will hear a nationally acclaimed speaker, participate in a Community Service project, and enjoy many fun activities such as a pool party and dance.
Registration opens May 1. Sign up right away as classes fill quickly.

Ocean Watch 4-H Marine Science Camp: June 30-July 5, 2013

Application deadline: May 24, 2013

The six day Ocean Watch 4-H Marine Ambassadors Camp will take place on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus for two nights and in Newport at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) for three nights.  Transportation is provided between OSU and Hatfield.  On the OSU campus youth will learn to be 4-H Marine Ambassadors, tour labs, participate in science classes and work with a team to construct Remote Operated Vehicles.  In Newport campers will be introduced to the 64-foot sailing research vessel Ocean Watch.  You can see more information about Ocean Watch’s 25,000-mile Around the Americas research voyage at this link http://oceantoday.noaa.gov/aroundtheamericas/ .  For more information on 4-H Technology and ROVs see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVKuvSUe7zc&feature=youtu.be

We will sail on Ocean Watch to access marine animal and plant survey sites, and collect water samples. She will also be the center piece of our public information day on the 4th of July, where Ocean Watch 4-H Marine Ambassadors will practice their newly acquired skills to teach the public about our oceans. The 4-H Marine Ambassador’s Mission is to raise awareness about the health of the ocean and to show how changes are impacting various ecosystems and human life. Natural Resource Camp - Grant County

The Natural Resource Camp is open to all students finishing the 6th through 9th grades from anywhere!  The camp is located at Lake Creek Youth Camp in Logan Valley Oregon.  Learn about careers in Natural Resources available to you while having fun and meeting new friends too.  Safety is important; camp is suprervised by trained volunteers with first aid and CPR training.  For more information about the camp contact Camp Directors: Linda Brown (541) 620-4094.  Detailed information on transportation and what to bring will be sent after registration is received.

Open to Everyone, students do not have to be 4-H Members!

2013 Dates: July 15-18

Registration Deadline: July 5, 2013 to the Grant County 4-H Office!  **If you are planning on attending please call your local 4-H office as soon as possible: 541-676-9642.**

2013 Cost: $60, scholarships are available

2013 Special Activities:  Archery, Fly Tying, Fishing, Bike Ride, Paper Making, Weaving, Art in Nature, Leathercraft, Overnight Wilderness Survival Skills, Scavenger Hike, Shooting, Basketball, Geo Caching, Making Bird Feeders and Houses (register early to receive your first choice of activities).
