“Watershed Stewardship: A Learning Guide” is now available on CD from the Oregon State University Extension Service. Whether presented on paper or CD, it is a comprehensive resource for creating community-based watershed councils, with practical instructions for communities polarized by water politics.
The Oregon State University Extension Service 4-H Wildlife Stewards Program, a partnership between Oregon 4-H and public schools to teach children about nature, science and the environment, has won two national achievement awards.
ISI identified 12 OSU researchers who have demonstrated great influence in their field as measured by citations to their work--the intellectual debt acknowledged by their colleagues. Among the 12 are Thayne Dutson, the Rueb Long Endowed Professor and dean of OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences, whose work focuses on meat science and muscle biology; and Ronald Wrolstad, distinguished professor of food science and technology emeritus in OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences, whose work examines antioxidant properties of fruit and fruit pigments.
Lotería de Diabetes, or Diabetes Bingo, an Oregon State University Extension Service educational board game designed to help Latino children and adults learn about diabetes prevention, has won a national award for creative excellence.
