Bug day features nature's oddities

April 12, 2005

CORVALLIS - Shake hands with a walking stick, tickle a hissing cockroach or take a chance with the maggot races. It's Bug Day at Oregon State University.

On Thursday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the OSU Memorial Union quad will be crawling with weird and wonderful beasts from the insect collections of OSU's Department of Crop and Soil Science.

The public is invited to this year's Bug Day, where OSU volunteers will help with hands-on encounters and share what they know about the world of insects. Insect shirts and postcards will also be for sale.
