OSU announces agricultural honors scholarships

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Agricultural honors scholarships totaling $82,555 have been awarded to Oregon State University students in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

The scholarships are made possible by gifts to the college. Recipients of the 2006 scholarships are:

AMITY - Jeffrey Whitman, a freshman majoring in natural resources, received the $1,000 Frank Burlingham Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund.

ARLINGTON - Caitlin Bartlemay, a freshman majoring in food science and technology, received the $750 Walter J. and Florence J. Jaeger Undergraduate Scholarship and the $1,000 Clifford Smith Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

AURORA - Trevor Ingle, a freshman majoring in horticulture, received the $1,000 Frank Burlingham Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund; Carleen Wilson, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

BAKER - Sadie Duncan, a freshman majoring in agricultural business management, received the $1,000 Karla S. Chambers Leadership Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

BEAVERTON - Jennifer Fideler, a freshman majoring in food science and technology, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Clifford Smith Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

BEND - Keely Lopez, a freshman majoring in fisheries and wildlife science, received the $1,000 Jernstedt Family Agricultural Honors Scholarship; Kara Palacio, a freshman majoring in agricultural and resource economics, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Grange Co-op Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

BOARDMAN - Ruben Mendoza, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,500 V. Kent Searles and Nancy J. Billingsley Searles Scholarship.

CANBY - Katie Trapp, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Naumes Family Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

CENTRAL POINT - Tyson Corcoran, a freshman majoring in agricultural business management, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Wilco Farmers Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

CHILOQUIN - Azalea Dabill, a junior majoring in horticulture, received the $250 Lawrence E. and Marguerite Kaseberg Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $750 Paul and Frances Montecucco Beginning Venture Scholarship.

CLOVERDALE - John Seymour, a freshman in animal sciences, received the $5,655 Charles E. and Clara Marie Eckelman Scholarship.

CORBETT - Johanna Siefert, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Lawrence E. and Marguerite Kaseberg Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

CRANE - Julie Neuschwander, a freshman majoring in general agriculture, received the $500 Clayton Fox Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $500 Savery Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

DAYTON - Jessica Dolan, a freshman majoring in crop and soil science, received the $2,000 Loren J. Smith Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

ECHO - Rebecca Ferge, a freshman majoring in general agriculture, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Clayton Fox Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

ELKTON - Andrea Rose, a freshman majoring in food science and technology, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

ENTERPRISE - Chelcee Noland, a freshman majoring in agricultural business management, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Fisher Implement/Ernst Hardware Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

ESTACADA - Katherine Alderman, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 A/B Technologies International, Inc. Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

FOSSIL - Kaylee Griffith, a junior majoring in agricultural business management, received the $1,250 Walter J. and Florence J. Jaeger Undergraduate Scholarship.

GRESHAM - Christopher Tischler, a freshman majoring in fisheries and wildlife science, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund.

HOOD RIVER - Cori Nuss, a freshman majoring in rangeland ecology and management, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Jernstedt Family Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

INDEPENDENCE - Emi Ikeda, a freshman majoring in fisheries and wildlife science, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

LAKE OSWEGO - Allison Clark, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Eugene H. Fisher Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 John and Florence Scharff Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

LEBANON - Emily Ruckert, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Frank Burlingham Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund.

LOWELL - Brian Toncray, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and $1,000 from the Agricultural Honors Scholarship Program Fund on behalf of Lane County Farm Bureau Scholarship.

MADRAS - Katie Klann, a freshman majoring in agricultural business management, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and $1,000 from Oregon Women for Agriculture.

MAUPIN - Shilah Olson, a junior majoring in natural resources, received the $1,250 Walter J. and Florence J. Jaeger Undergraduate Scholarship.

MONROE - Mark Goracke, a freshman majoring in agricultural business management, received the $1,000 Farm Credit Services Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

NEWBERG - Lindsay Vial, a freshman majoring in agricultural business management, received the $1,000 Tillamook County Creamery Association Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

PENDLETON - Stephanie Cleveland, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship and the $1,000 Naumes Family Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

PORT ORFORD - Robert Ashdown, a freshman majoring in horticulture, received the $1,000 Paul and Frances Montecucco Beginning Venture Scholarship; Megan Hughes, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received $250 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and the $1,000 Eugene H. Fisher Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $750 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

PORTLAND - Christina Bernards, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

REDMOND - Riley Avery, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Eugene H. Fisher Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,400 Malcolm Johnson Scholarship.

ROSEBURG - Maria Quiroz, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

SALEM - Zachary Allen, a freshman majoring in fisheries and wildlife science, received the $1,000 Summers Agricultural Honors Scholarship; Andrew Gundlach, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Frank Burlingham Memorial Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund; Anne Marie Hanneman, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 A/B Technologies International, Inc. Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

SCIO - Bonnie Bonebrake, a junior majoring in agricultural business management, received the $750 CHS Foundation Scholarship.

SPRINGFIELD - Shalynn Pack, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund and $1,000 from the Agricultural Honors Scholarship Program Fund on behalf of Lane County Farm Bureau Scholarship.

WILSONVILLE - Elizabeth Leondar, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

HOMER, Alaska - Kelliann McCune, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 A/B Technologies International, Inc. Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Keely Oswald, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Eugene H. Fisher Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

CONCORD, Calif. - Colleen Paquette, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

HEIDELBERG, Germany - Paulina Ryan, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 Fisher Implement/Ernst Hardware Agricultural Honors Scholarship.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Michelle Schmitt, a freshman majoring in animal sciences, received the $1,000 CHS Foundation Agricultural Honors Scholarship and the $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus Scholarship.

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Janet Turner, a junior majoring in general agriculture, received the $750 Karla S. Chambers Leadership Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $250 from Oregon Women for Agriculture.

WINTHROP, Wash. - Natalie Houk, a freshman majoring in fisheries and wildlife science, received the $1,000 A/B Technologies International, Inc. Agricultural Honors Scholarship and $1,000 from the John W. DeMuth, Jr. Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund.
