CORVALLIS, Ore. - The College of Agricultural Sciences of Oregon State University is holding its 27th annual Art About Agriculture regional art competition. The exhibit will open next April with the artists' reception and awards presentation in OSU’s LaSells Stewart Center.

Artists interested in entering the juried competition can request a prospectus by sending a postcard with name and mailing address to: Art About Agriculture, Oregon State University, 127 Strand Agriculture Hall, Corvallis, OR 97331-2213; or an e-mail message with name and mailing address to: Shelley Curtis.

Prospectus information also is available on the Art About Agriculture Web site.

The signed entry form and CD-ROM must be mailed with a postmark or hand delivered by Jan. 2. Notification of selection will be by Jan. 27.

The theme for Art About Agriculture 2009 is “Across the Pacific Northwest.”

"The college invites artists to investigate agriculture and natural resources of the Pacific Northwest as inspiration," said Shelley Curtis, curator.

The competition is open to all fine arts and traditional ceramics and textiles media. Artists living in Alaska, British Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington may apply. However, student artwork completed while enrolled in an educational curriculum is not accepted.
