Joys, Sorrows, and Well-wishes

Condolences

  • Norm Goetze, retired Extension Agriculture faculty, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, in Corvallis, surrounded by family. A celebration of life service was held on July 17 at First Presbyterian Church in Corvallis. It is suggested remembrances be made to Benton Hospice Service or First Presbyterian Church.
After expressed interest, OSU Crop and Soil Science Department Head, Russ Karrow, worked to establish an endowment in Norm’s memory.  Under policies in the OSU Foundation it is possible to establish what I call a “builder” account with this intent.  The account is established as a sub-account of a Crop and Soil Science unrestricted OSU Foundation account and efforts are made to build the account to the $25,000 level needed to create a standalone endowment.
Plans at this time are to use the fund to support professional development activities of agricultural extension faculty.  If an endowed level of funding is not reached after about five years’ time, monies in the account will be directly expended for this same purpose.
To make a contribution follow these steps:
    To give via credit card
Go to the OSU website – www.oregonstate.edu
Click on the top bar link titled “Make a Gift”
Choose make a one-time gift in the first paragraph of this page
    Choose option #1 – I’m Making a Gift
Enter dollar amount in box shown
Under “I Want to Give to” type “CSS Unrestricted – Goetze Fund” in the “Area you’d like to support” box then click “Next”
You will then be guided through the rest of the gift giving process – name address, credit card info, etc.
To give via check – make a check payable to the OSU Foundation with “CSS Unrestricted – Goetze Fund” written in the memo line.  Send your check to - 850 SW 35th Street, Corvallis, OR 97333
