Local, county and state fairs offer 4-H kids a chance to show off their projects, learn about healthy competition and maybe bring home a ribbon or two.

Benny the Beaver will be joining OSU Extension Service, Polk County on Saturday, August 12 at our Polk County Fair booth, in the livestock barn and wandering around the fair.  Prizes, give aways and photo opportunities with Benny!!!

2017 Fair Schedule            

STEPS 1, 2 and 3 must be completed by Friday, June 30th...

Step 1. Entries - either submit online (preferred) or paper entry form

Once you are done with your on-line or paper entries, come back here and finish STEPS 2- 5 as needed.  You MUST save any fillable forms to your computer, then fill them out, then save a final time before emailing.

Step 2. Fair Participation Record - includes Community Service Project and 4-H Activity Beyond the Club.    You MUST save to your computer, then fill out and save again before emailing. 

Step 3. Stall/Pen Request Card (if showing animals) You MUST save to your computer, then fill out and save again before emailing.

Step 4. Judge Explanation Cards (static projects) - these come to fair attached to your project

Step 5. Interview with Judge and Contest Signup (optional)

  • Youth with Static projects - sign up for a time to meet with a static exhibit judge on Monday, Aug.7.  You must call for an appointment.  503-623-8395.
  • Sign up for Contest Times and pay a $5 entry fee for Food Contests, Outdoor Cookery Contests and Presentation.  Your $5 fee is returned after you complete the contest or presentation (sign-up and pay at the Extension Office).
If you cannot make it into our office to drop off these materials, you may email it to Carla at carla.cudmore@oregonstate.edu.  We must receive the items by 6pm, Friday June 30th.
