Q:

Is it too late to plant garlic?

- Polk County, Oregon
A:

No, it is not too late to plant garlic. Some years, the ultimate size of the bulb declines each month past October that it is planted. Other years, it does not seem to make a difference. Ultimate harvest date (mid July) is not much changed by the planting date. So my advice would be to plant as soon as possible. The garlic shoots won't emerge until mid January.
