Wonderful wood for wise landscaping.
I am looking for some good sources to use rough sawed juniper for landscaping elements of design for our home. Do you have some suggestions, or a good alternative that is not toxic for edible landscaping?- Multnomah County, OR
For wise landscaping wood any of our native, durable species should work well for you - western redcedar or Port-Orford-cedar. And even Oregon white oak is quite durable. And of course, as you said, western juniper would also make a very good choice. I have several 6x6's as landscaping on my yard in western Oregon and they show no signs of decay after 8 years of ground contact.
