This workshop will cover county and state regulations and licenses needed for setting up a farm stand and/or agritourism operation. Julie Schmelzers from Josephine County Planning Offices, and, Josh Lebombard, the Southern Oregon Representative of the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development, will provide detailed information of how to get started.

One of the greatest challenges facing farmers and ranchers in our area is access to land. Land values (purchasing) and lease rates have skyrocketed in recent years, making the dream of farming seem unattainable. Our presenters will discuss how to find and secure farmland through traditional and non-traditional means, and our panel will discuss their experiences with leasing here in Southern Oregon. Presenters include Nellie McAdams, Colby Kielman, Melissa Matthewson and Aimee Danch.

This all-day workshop will provide a thorough overview of the social media landscape in which farmers are advertising today. We'll cover everything from the basics of setting up a business page to how to effectively analyze the extensive sets of data that each platform provides. By the end of the day, you should have a clear picture of how social media advertising can be beneficial to your business. We'll cover the state of social media, strategies for small farmers, contant and engagement, and advertising and insights.  Instructors: Revolution Design Company (RDC), Eugene, OR. This evening workshop will walk producers through the process of setting up EBT/SNAP payments at their farm stands, agritourism operations, and Community Supported Agriculture programs. Offering EBT payment options both increases potential markets for farmers and also provides access to fresh, local, wholesome foods to low-income communities.  Presenter: Bryan Allen of Zenger Farm and co-author of The CSA Farmer's Nationwide Guide to Accepting SNAP/EBT Payments.

Information will be provided on market channel assessment, business ploanning, annmd predicting profitability through enterprise selection.
