An important message to our Extension families,
On Friday, April 12, we learned that, due to the projected Jackson County budget shortfall, the Budget Committee proposed to ELIMINATE THE ENTIRE EXTENSION & EXPERIMENT STATION BUDGET for the next fiscal year.
If this proposal is accepted by the commissioners there will be no funding for Extension programs, i.e., 4-H Youth, Master Gardeners, Family Food Educators, Forestry, Small Farms, Land Stewards…in 2014.
If you have an opinion of the budget committee’s recommendation you may attend the final Budget meeting on May 29, 2013, at 9:30 AM or write the County Commissioners. Contact information for the County Commissioners is:
