Video of Iron Chef Contest at 2009 State Fair

4-H members had an opportunity to showcase their food prep skills and creativity in the new State Fair 4-H Iron Chef Competition!  Contestants worked as a 2-3 member teams to prepare at least two dishes that incorporated a mystery ingredient (provided at the contest).  Teams were made up of intermediate or senior members who had participated in their county food prep contest.

The contest was held at State Fair. A panel of judges evaluated the final product for taste; plating; originality; and food safety.

Participants had 60 minutes for cooking and a total of 2 hours for the entire contest, including preparation, serving, judging and clean-up. Details for the 4-H Iron Chef Competition are outlined on the State 4-H website, http://oregon.4h.oregonstate.edu/sites/default/files/ContestsIronChef09_0.pdf
