  • Current 4-H Members pay the fee listed below.  [NOTE: youth not currently enrolled in 4-H pay a one-time enrollment fee in addition to the Day Camp fees below, payable at the time of registration for the first day camp. ($25 for 4-12 grade; $2 for K-3 grade)]

OMSI Family Science Festival, November 18, 2017 from 1 to 4 pm @ OSU Extension Service, Meeting Room #105, 4506 Third Street, Tillamook.

2018 Summer Day Camps

Summer Mural Project: Tuesday & Thursdays, June 12 - July 12, 9:00 am to  noon

  • This project, taught by Thea DeFeyter, professional artist, working with Art Accelerated, will start with the design of a mural, moving through the permit process, to review and exaction and finally, installation.
    • Where: Art Accelerated Gallery, 1906 Third Street, Tillamook.
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 5th grades and up
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies)

Stickers and Shirts! Computer Aided Design: June 18-22, 9:00 am to  noon

  • Come learn how to use CAD software to design in 2 dimensions. Participants will come away with the ability to work with Rhinoceros software to create their own designs.  Learn the process for creating high quality stickers and vinyl transfer apparel and walk away with a custom sticker and t-shirt. Bring your own USB jump drive if you want to save your designs for future use!
    • Where: Tillamook High School, CTE Building room 45
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 4th grades and up
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies)

Dishing Up the Dirt: June 19-22, 1:00 to 5:00 pm

  • Plant a veggie container, make a miniature garden, do garden crafts, cook foods from the garden, and have fun!  Bring gloves and wear clothes that can get dirty. 
    • Where: 4-H Dorm, Tillamook County Fairgrounds
    • Ages: Youth who have completed 2nd grade or higher
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies)

Babysitter Training: June 25, 26, 27 & 29, 9:00 to 11:30 am, First Aid/CPR Training:  June 28th, 9:00 to 3:00 pm

  • Topics include: babysitter role & responsibility, preventing and handling emergencies, feeding young children, activities for children, ages and stages, behavior and guidance.   First Aid/CPR portion is a full day on Thursday.

    • Ages: Youth who have completed 4th grade and up

Sew Much Fun: July 2, 3 & 5, 6, 9:00 am to noon

  • Beginning sewers learn to use a sewing machine and will make several simple sewing projects, including fleece pants, hat and pillow.
    • Where: OSU Extension Meeting Room #105
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 4th grade or higher
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies)

Crafty Creations Cloverbuds: July 2, 3 & 5, 6, 1:00 to  4:00 pm

  • Experience lots of fun, hands-on activities & projects tailored to this age.  Art projects range from tie-dying to printmaking and more.  All projects will be beginner level with the ability for the more experienced to add to the project.  We will get messy, so dress accordingly!

    • Ages: Youth who just completed K-3rd grade
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies)

Cake Decorating-Buttercream Basics: July 9, 10:00 am to noon

  • Learn how to decorate with buttercream frosting on cookies or cupcakes and how to use basic cake decorating tips. 
    • Where: OSU Extension Meeting Room #105  
    • Ages: Youth who just completed K-5th grade
    • Cost: $10 (includes supplies)

Cake Decorating-Buttercream Basics: July 11 & 12, 9:00 am to noon

  • Learn how to slice properly, build, fill, crumb coat & frost a cake with perfect edges and borders using buttercream. Learn how to pipe basic flowers and how to place them on your cake.
    • Where: OSU Extension Meeting Room #105
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 6th grade or higher
    • Cost: $20 (includes supplies)

Cloverbud Small Animal Camp: July 16-18, 1:30 to 3:00 pm

  • Come learn about rabbits, cavies (Guinea Pigs) and poultry with hands-on experience to practice skills before the Fair.
    • Where: 4-H/FFA Livestock Barn, Tillamook Co. Fair
    • Ages: Youth who just completed K-3rd grade
    • Cost: $25 (includes supplies)

Food Preservation:  Mon, Wed & Fri, July 16, 18 & 20, 9:00 am to noon  

  • Pickled vegetables, fruit pie filling and jelly are easy to can at home in a  water bath canner.  Come learn basic home food preservation skills and leave with three 4-H canning exhibits to enter at the Tillamook County Fair.
    • Where: OSU Extension Meeting Room #105
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 4th grade or higher
    • Cost: $30 (includes supplies)

Photography: Tuesdays & Thurdays, July 17, 19, 24 & 26, 9:00 to 10:30 am

  • Learn about different types of photography from various photographers. Must supply your own digital camera. Offered in cooperation with Art Accelerated!

    • Ages: Youth who just completed 4th grade or higher

Cloverbud Art Exploration: Tuesdays& Thursdays, July 17, 19, 24, & 26, 1:00 to 3:00 pm

  • These art sessions in cooperation with Art Accelerated! allow young artists to explore and express themselves creatively and  build confidence to make their own artistic decisions.  Students will use a variety of paints.
    • Where: OSU Extension Meeting Room #105
    • Ages:  Youth who just completed  grades K—3rd
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies you will keep)

Cake Decorating-Working with Fondant: July 23 & 24, 9:00 am to noon

  • Learn how to make the ever popular unicorn cake or bunny cake and to properly slice, build, fill, crumb coat, frost & stack a two-tiered cake with perfect edges; how to make basic fondant flowers; and proper structuring for stacking cakes.
    • Where: OSU Extension Meeting Room #105
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 6th grade or higher
    • Cost: $25 (includes supplies you will keep)

3D Printing Design & Basics: July 23-27, 9 am to noon

  • Learn the basics of 3D computer aided design and manufacturing; create some simple objects using SoldWorks software; and how to set up a file to be printed. Participants will print an object to take home. Bring a USB drive to save your files for future use.
    • Where: Tillamook High School, CTE Building room 45
    • Ages: Youth who just completed 7th grade or higher
    • Cost: $45 (includes supplies)
