• Livestock Production Education. Beef quality, animal welfare and land stewardship are directly related to marketability of cattle.
• Foreign Animal Disease Surveillance and Response. Providing education and training to strengthen preparedness for foreign animal diseases and bioterrorism. Developing protocols for building emergency response infrastructures.
• Efficacy of llamas as sentry animals for beef cattle herds. It is well documented that llamas serve as excellent guard animals for sheep flocks, but little is known about their effectiveness in guarding beef cows. The research is entering its third season.
• Oregon Feed Library. Participating in developing a database tailored for use by Oregon livestock producers as a means of determining their herds NRC requirements.
• Warm Springs Stockman's Newsletter. Timely news for livestock producers.
• Warm Springs Farms Initiative. A proposed agricultural project to provide employment and educational opportunities for Warm Springs Tribal members as well as to provide a management plan for tribal fee properties.
• Warm Springs Ranchers Guide. A conveniently useful management handbook designed stricly for the rancher. Frequently sighted on pickup dashboards in Oregon, North Dakota, New Mexico and Nevada.
