Wasco County 4-H Camps and Trainings
The Wasco County 4-H program offers a variety of day and residential camps and topic specific clinics, trainings and events.
Summer Day Camps
Several summer day camps held in The Dalles, Dufur, Mosier and Maupin are sponsored by the OSU Wasco County 4-H Youth Development program. Please note the ages listed for each offering. Partial scholarships are available.
Mid Columbia Spring Horse Classic
The Horse Classic event includes the Horse Bowl, Horse Judgin, Hippology and Presentations/Public Speaking contests. The 2015 event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th.
Camp Counselor Program
Trained Teen Counselors are needed for all camps. The Columbia Gorge Camp Counselor Training Program is designed to train older youth to serve as camp counselors at any youth camp, including 4-H Camp Morrow. Though counselors need to be high-school aged, youth ages 12 and up from Sherman, Hood River and Wasco County are invited to attend the trainings which are scheduled for January 19, 2015 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and February 16, 2015 from 10-3pm in The Dalles. Counselors chosen for 4-H Camp will also meet 4/18, 5/31 and 6/16.

2014 4-H Camp Morrow Staff Application
4-H Tri-County Leadership Camp is for youth ages 12-19. It is a 3 day, 2 night camp held at Camp Morrow on the Pine Hollow Reservoir near Wamic each Spring. Youth will get the camp experience of campfire, mess hall traditions, and social events while learning leadership, citizenship and civic engagement skills. 2015 dates are March 27-29.

2015 Camper information and Schedule
4-H Camp Morrow is for youth ages 9-11. It is a 4 day, 3 night camp held at Camp Morrow on the Pine Hollow Reservoir near Wamic, OR the third week of June. 2015 dates are June 17-20.

HEARTH Spring Events
The Kids in the Kitchen HEARTH Spring Event is for 4-H youth ages 9-19. Focus is on the HEARTH project areas (Horticulture, Expressive Arts, and Home Ec). This year's event will be on Saturday, May 2nd.
It's a Whole Grain Thing HEARTH 2 day event will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 23rd and 24th from 10-2 pm. For information and a registration form, click here.
Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse day camp has just been announced for Saturday, March 28th! Filled with lots of the same activities planned for Zombie Leadership Camp, this is one not to be missed!
Topic Specific Trainings and Events
The Babysitting Training is designed for youth ages 11-19 to gain the knowledge and skills needed to be successful babysitters. Lessons include first aid and safety, nutrition and preparing food, playing with children of all ages, and running a babysitting business.
Horse Classic, a multi-contest event that includes Horse Bowl, Horse Judging, Hippology, Presentations and Public Speaking is scheduled for April 11, 2015, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
