Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District Update
Our parks provider is in the process of updating the Natural Resources Functional Plan. Bruce Barbarasch, Superintendent of Natural Resources & Trails Management, will give us an update on it.

THPRD Natural Resources Survey: The THPRD Comprehensive Plan Update, completed July 2013, outlines the mission and vision to guide park district operations for the next decade. Part of that process is the development of the THPRD’s Natural Resources Functional Plan. The plan will provide broad guidance to manage THPRD’s natural resources and will include a habitat mapping tool, a land management prioritization matrix, guidelines for development in natural areas, and targets for habitat management. Provide your input now.
Take ten-question survey.

Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District Update
Jen Nelson, Outreach, Volunteer and Education Program Manager for the TSWCD, will update us on their work to improve soil and water health in our region.

US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service Update
Dean Moberg, District Conservationist for the USDA NRCS, will give us an update on their work to improve soil and water health in our region.

General philosophy of water protection vs treatment:
savings and other benefits
• Restoration and maintenance of local streams/wetlands,
homeowner resources, volunteer opportunities
• Stream protection in new developments: stream setbacks,
steep slopes - pertinent to Area 93/Bonny Slope UGB
expansion
• Daylighting stream opportunities – Beaverton activities,
• How CWS works with county development to mitigate
impacts of new development
