Beaverton School District Boundary Changes

BSD is realigning school boundaries in preparation for the new high school. The end date for the process is in March 2016. BSD Representatives will visit CPO 1 prior to that date for a full presentation. Local parent Jennifer Alger will introduce the topic which may be of interest: the initially proposed "springboard" map realigns boundaries between Hwy 26 and Cornell Road. NW Saltzman Road Realignment

NW Saltzman Road, at the north end south of the intersection with NW Laidlaw Road, is legendary for its lack of safety. The county’s solution realigns the road to the west, and will cost an estimated $11.2 million. An interim plan calls for $1.2 million for sidewalks and bike lanes. A group of neighbors has come together to form the Bethany Neighborhood Coalition (BNC). Members of the group will present the details of the need to realign Saltzman Road and will discuss possible strategies. The BNC is composed of local residents, business owners & organizations. The Bethany area has seen high growth in residential development in the past 20 years but they argue not a proportionate level of infrastructure investments by the County and State to create a safe, vibrant community through the creation of better roadways, sidewalks, bike lanes and trails.
