CPO 4B Considering Possible Boundary Changes

A presentation, discussion and a possible vote will be held on revising CPO 4B’s boundaries.

The first part of the proposal is to modify the western boundary which would also affect CPO 10’s boundary.

The proposal would:

  • include River Terrace
  • move the boundary below River Terrace to end at Roy Rogers Road.

CPO 4K has also proposed changing its boundaries which would affect CPO 4B’s southwest boundary.

The proposal would:

  • adjust the 4B/4K boundary extending CPO 4K west to Roy Rogers Road and north to Beef Bend Road
  • move the boundary below River Terrace to end at Roy Rogers Road.

County Animal Services Ordinance Revisions
Community Meeting - January 10th

Animal Services will hold a public meeting to answer questions and discuss the proposed code changes on January 10th, 12-2 pm, at the Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter, 1901 SE 24th Ave., Hillsboro. The revisions to the ordinance include changes to dangerous dog provisions, expands the ordinance to cats, clarifies and updates nuisance violations, and proposes changes to administrative enforcement provisions. It also proposes a new fine schedule that allows for larger fines for serious violations and smaller fines for less serious offenses.

Provide Feedback on URMD Safety Improvement Candidates

The public is invited to comment on the top Urban Road Maintenance District Safety Improvement candidates being considered for construction in 2015-2016. Comments submitted by February 13, 2015, will be reviewed by the Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee. One candidate is the Bull Mountain Road Pedestrian Path which would include maintenance and improvements to existing sidewalks/pathways along Bull Mountain Road between Grandview Lane and 133rd Avenue.

 

Help Make Oregon a Safer and Better Place to Bike

New Smartphone App
TTP Lab has developed a smartphone app to collect route, infrastructure, crash, and safety data for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). Data provided by the ORcycle app users will be utilized to produce maps displaying all reported locations with crashes, safety or infrastructure issues/problems. State, county, and city staff as well as app users will be able to access maps with crash and safety data gathered by ORcycle.

Willamette Water Supply Program

The Willamette Water Supply Program is planning to develop an additional source of water from the mid-Willamette River at Wilsonville. This project will expand the Willamette River Water Treatment Plant and add pipelines and storage to serve communities in Washington County. Several pipeline route alternatives are being considered. Construction in most areas will not begin for several years.

South Cooper Mountain

The South Cooper Mountain Community Plan to Be Considered for Adoption
The proposed community plan adoption includes amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Land Use Map, and Development Code. The initial hearing was held on November 5th. A continuation of the hearing was held on December 3rd when the City of Beaverton approved the proposal to implement zoning for the site acquired by Beaverton School District for a new high school within the area. The proposal is for adoption of the City’s R1 (Residential Urban High Density District - 1,000 sq.ft. per dwelling unit) Land Use (Zoning) District. The site is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of SW Scholls Ferry Road and SW 175th Avenue. 

In January 2015, the Beaverton City Council is expected to hold public hearings on adoption of the Cooper Mountain Concept Plan, and the County Board of Commissioners is tentatively scheduled to acknowledge the plan.

OR 99W Safety Project

Statistics show a high crash rate on OR 99W at Royal Villa Drive. As a result, the center median closure is required to eliminate T-bone crashes and other related crashes in the area. As of August 22nd, left turns are not permitted into or out of Royal Villa Drive. This is a permanent change..

SW Corridor - Refinement Phase and Next Steps

The Draft Staff Recommendation was recently published and open for review by the public. It contains information about the potential High Capacity Transit station areas and multimodal projects currently under consideration in the Refinement Phase. At a June 9th meeting, the recommendations and public feedback—provided in the Draft Public Involvement Report­—were reviewed by the Steering Committee. The committee is considering the suggested changes to the draft recommendation based on public input, further technical analysis and partners’ discussions.
