Administrative Transition of the CPO Program

From Your OSU Extension Service Staff

Following the announcement in November 2014 by Oregon State University Extension Service that it will no longer serve as administrator of the Washington County CPO Program in the future, here is more information about the transition.

Daily operations of the CPOs remain unchanged. County administrative staff, with input from CPO representatives on the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI), developed a transition process, which was approved by the Board of Commissioners at their worksession on January 13, 2015. The proposal includes timeline and planning-level details.

Click the Washington County's web page for all its published information on the program transition.

There will be opportunities in the transition process for CPO participants, the community at-large, and County partners to be involved. Follow the County's web page and your CPO Program communications regularly for updates, links and key documents. You also can check the CCI page to follow its activity. All CCI meetings are open to the public.

The CPO transition has no effect on Extension Service’s core programs serving families, youths, schools, agricultural producers, foresters and governments in Washington County and statewide.

OSU Extension Service sincerely appreciates serving the Washington County community. If you have any questions, please contact CPO Program Coordinators Dan Schauer, 503-821-1123, or Beth St. Amand, 503-821-1114.
