Join 4-H

DEADLINE FOR 2011 4-H ENROLLMENTS IS DECEMBER 31, 2011.  AFTER THAT DATE, A $10 LATE FEE IS APPLIED TO EACH ENROLLMENT (FROM $22 TO $32).  THE YAMHILL COUNTY OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED FROM DECEMBER 24 TO DECEMBER 31.  ENROLLMENTS SUBMITTED DURING THE CLOSURE WEEK CAN BE SUBMITTED BY MAIL (POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 31) .  FAXED ENROLLMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  (PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED WITH THE ENROLLMENT FORMS).

Joining or starting a 4-H club is a great way to have fun, learn new skills and meet new and interesting people.

4-H is a youth outreach program of the Oregon State University Extension Service.  It is open to all youth in kindergarten through 12^th grade.  4-H teaches young people life skills like responsibility, critical thinking, communication and more through educational clubs. It costs $22 per year to join 4-H if enrolled by December 31st or $32 if enrolling from January up to the May 1st deadline.  There may also be costs relating to the project books and materials.   Clubs are lead by adult volunteers who coordinate regular meetings and activities that meet educational goals within a project area.  Youth in grades 4-12 enroll in specific projects of interest.  Youth in grades K-3 join Cloverbud Clubs which explore a variety of subjects and do not concentrate on a single topic. 

4-H is a family integrated activity.  Parents are expected to assist their children in their respective project(s).  For example, youth with animals may need help with the feed and care of the animal as well as covering related costs.  It works best when parents can share a common interest with the child, like gardening, robotics, shooting sports etc.  Each club leader sets the expectations for parental involvement.

YAMHILL COUNTY 4-H Re-enrollment

To re-enroll in 4-H for the 2011-2012 year, please contact your Club's IT Leader. 

Fees:  The cost to join 4-H in Yamhill county will be $22.00 per member if enrolled by December 31st.  After Decmeber 31st, the cost will be $32.00 per member.  Familiies with more than 2 children in 4-H will be assessed $7.00 per child after the first two up to the December 31st date.  After December 31, the cost will be $12.00 per child after the first 2 children are enrolled. These fees include the accident insurance premium.  Checks should be made out to "OSU Extension".
