Welcome! Trees and forests can enhance and enrich our lives in many ways. They provide aesthetic, monetary, recreational and spiritual values. Landowners in the Willamette Valley and foothills who tend woodland properties, rural residential homesites and even urban lots seek the benefits that trees, forests, plants and animals offer. The goal of our Extension Forestry program is to help landowners in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties better understand local woodlands and forests. We strive to provide education and tools to take care of forests and woodlands and to help meet landowner goals and objectives. Extension brings science-based educational programming to the counties and provides information on many aspects of forest science and natural resources management. Our programming activities include classes, workshops, field tours, demonstrations and research. We also provide educational materials through many topic-oriented publications and videos, as well as forestry-related articles in a periodic newsletter. Many of these resources are available through links on this site. Through our Extension faculty, staff and volunteers, and in collaboration with other organizations, we aim to meet the educational needs of a broad audience of woodland owners and managers of many sizes, as well as teachers, youth and the general public, loggers, Christmas tree growers and other forestry workers. I am Brad Withrow-Robinson, your local Extension Forestry faculty. I keep an office in Yamhill county, but I also cover Marion and Polk counties. This site has been designed to help me serve residents of all three counties. Please let me know how this page could better serve you and your community.
