Yamhill County is rich in diversity. The floor of the Willamette valley, with its winding rivers, clear streams and fertile fields, supports a multitude of enterprises from agricultural to recreational. Nursery and greenhouse plants, grass seed, orchard fruits and nuts, wine grapes, vegetables, dairy cattle, Christmas trees and woodlots thrive in the valleys and foothills. The Coast Range mountains shelter water supplies, vast forests and beautiful recreation sites. Yamhill County citizens appreciate the bountiful countryside and wild areas, and are proud of their towns and cities.

The Extension Service is here to serve the citizens of Yamhill County, providing knowledge from universities nationwide. Our services include: advice for farmers, foresters and orchard operators, answers for home gardeners and professional horticulturalists, youth and family programs, including 4-H and food safety support.

The Yamhill County Extension Service is part of Oregon State University. The county extension agents are faculty members in colleges at OSU. Funding is provided jointly by the State of Oregon, through OSU, by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and by Yamhill County residents through the Yamhill Extension Service District.
