Q FEVER Health Alert!
Since May 2014, three cases of acute Q Fever have been identified in residents of Benton and Linn counties. Each of the cases involves persons who work at or live near sheep farms. These three cases represent an unusually high number in a short period of time for this geographic area. We are requesting your help in identifying and reporting additional cases.
Q fever is a reportable condition. Any patient with presumptive or confirmed Q fever should be reported to the local health department.
See the full bulletin for description of Q fever and typical symptoms.
