Sheep
Resources for large and small sheep producers:
OSU Extension Lambing School is held in January each year. It is an excellent opportunity to learn how to increase your odds of getting live lambs on the ground and off to a good start! This school is held in a commercial sheep lambing barn, so there are ample hands-on opportunities. The school also includes discussions on sheep nutrition and facilities.
An Oregon State University/Oregon Sheep Growers Association sheep parasite workshop is planned for January 2010. The workshop will be limited to 25 participants. The day long session will consist of parasite control strategies along with hands-on fecal count determination. Participants will learn how to do fecal tests on their own farm. Pre-registration and fee will be required. Registration details will be posted on this website when they become available. For more information, contact Gene Pirelli.
