The application of the elements and principles of design is the foundation that allows the inclusion of almost any medium or technique. 4-H Original Art division includes work that is entirely the creation of the member while 4-H Non-original Art division allows for the inclusion of some components that have been designed or created by others.

Cake Decorating

The 4-H Cake Decorating project is designed to provide you opportunities to learn how to bake, frost, and decorate a variety of cakes and cake foams. Explore how to combine color, design, and flavors to create delicious and beautiful creations!

Fiber Arts

Fiber Arts includes a variety of experiences based on the manipulation of fiber. Possibilities are almost endless and include weaving, spinning, felting, basketry, macramé, tatting, braiding, hooking, embroidery, cross-stitch, needlepoint, patchwork, appliqué, quilting, and papermaking.

Leathercraft

In the Leathercraft project, girls and boys learn to make attractive, useful, hand-tooled leather articles. This project teaches coordination and helps develop creativity. Members learn to select and care for leather and may make their own patterns and designs. This project can involve the entire family. As members become more experienced, they make larger and more difficult articles.

    Performing Arts

    Performing Arts is open to any 4-H member. Performances can be either individual or team and types of performance can include dance, instrument, piano, vocal or other.

    Photography

    Cherish the beautiful moments in life by capturing the moment in a photography project. In the 4-H Photography project members learn to take attractive, interesting pictures that show good composition, sharp detail, and good use of light with whatever type of camera they have. Members can explore still and moving photography.

    Tractor

    In each class the exhibit shall be an educational exhibit which will show or illustrate what the member has learned. Include an explanation telling: (a) how the exhibit was made or what was done in the project; (b) operating instructions (if appropriate); and (c) what the member learned by the doing the project.

    Welding

    Projects or exhibits is this class are designed for practical use, artistic purpose, or demonstration of skills.  The techniques used can include Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick, Gas Metal Arc Welding/MIG, Gas Tungsten Arc Gas Welding/TIG, Flux-cored Arc Welding, Oxy-fuel Welding, or other metal joining techniques that require the heating of surfaces to the point of melting.

    Woodworking

    The 4-H Woodworking project is a fun way to learn the basics of wood construction and woodworking. You will learn construction safety, sawing, nailing, and wood finishing while creating fun, useful items. You will also have the opportunity to explore careers in woodworking and construction as part of the project.
