Emergency Youth Preparedness Opportunity for Youth
Do you have an interest in preparing yourself, your family, and your community for unexpected or surprise events such as natural disasters?
Then we have an opportunity for you! The My PI (Preparedness Initiative) program trains you in the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) curriculum and prepares you to return to your community to assist others in preparing. Many skills learned come in handy for everyday living as well!
Youth must be 13-18 years old to participate.
Curriculum will be delivered online in 1.5 hour learning sessions occurring on Tuesdays for 10 weeks from 3:30-5 pm (12/29/2020-3/2/2021) Additional time will be needed offline for the service project.
The final culminating event will be held on March 12-14, 2021, at the 4-H Center outside of Salem. There will be a fee for this final step to cover accommodations but financial assistance is available.
Upon completion of the training, graduates will receive a backpack full of emergency preparedness equipment and supplies.
