Camps, Retreats, and Conferences

4‑H day and overnight camps/retreats offer recreational and educational opportunities in a camp or university setting. 4‑H camps provide youth with the chance to meet new people, have fun, and experience life outside of home. Meeting new friends and trying new things are two great reasons kids love coming to camp!

Camp Myrtlewood

Registration is no longer available—Camp Myrtlewood has been cancelled due to staffing shortages. Those registered will receive either a refund or credit towards a camp at the 4-H Center.

If you registered and paid already, please contact the Jackson County Extension Office at 541-776-7371 to receive your code or refund, or choose a 4-H Center Camp here.

Camp Myrtlewood 2023 Costs (for reference):

  • $390 for general public
  • $290 for 4-H members who register and pay before April 15
  • $350 for 4-H members who register and pay after April 15

SOLAR

Registration opens January 4, closes February 8, 2023.

Are you interested in teen leadership, career readiness, and having fun? All teens in Oregon are welcome to attend SOLAR – the 4-H Southern Oregon Leadership & Activities Retreat.

This is a 3 day, 2 night teen development conference. It is held at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon over Presidents Day Weekend. In 2023, it starts at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 18 and ends Monday, February 20 at 12:00pm.

Participation is open to 7th-12th graders, or ages 12 – 18 years old. Teens will share a dorm room with one other youth, usually from their home county. Lodging, six meals, and activity supplies are included. Transportation to the venue is not provided.

Youth attend group sessions in the SOU Stevenson Union and take individual classes. Sessions include learning about leadership development, careers & hobbies, life & wellness, communication and teamwork. Most classes are interactive and include discussion or hands-on activities.

Cost is $225. Scholarships for 4-H members may be available; contact your local Extension 4-H office. Your spot at camp is not guaranteed until payment has been made in full, either by credit card or check.

  • Creating a sense of belonging for youth
  • Actively helping youth to make a difference NOW in their lives and communities

Become a Camp Counselor!

Older youth in grades 9-12 are encouraged to apply to be Camp Counselors! Learn valuable leadership skills, spend a week in a fun camp setting, and meet new friends!
