4-H Wildlife Steward Camp
For more than 100 years, Oregon State University Extension 4-H camping has been a proven and effective method of teaching youth life skills and providing a safe, engaging and FUN learning experience that provides lifelong friendships and memories for a lifetime. 4-H camping teaches youth to make their own decisions, solve problems, and manage their resources by providing hands-on experiential learning. Through involvement in the 4-H camping program, youth gain a better appreciation of living as a community by learning how to become more responsible and think critically.
Oregon 4-H Center: Located only seven miles from Salem, the Oregon 4-H Center is a rich outdoor classroom for exploring wildlife and nature. Key features are weatherized and heated cabins, modern restrooms, a large dining hall, rock climbing wall, archery range, a swimming pool, horse barn, fishing pond, and adventure swings.
Cost :Our 4-H resident camp is the most affordable camp in the Portland Metro area! Financial aid is also available for those who have financial need. $395 early registration per camper includes lodging and meals. A $25 discount is available for returning campers, active 4-H members and students from 4-H Partner Schools. A $25 sibling discount is available per family.
Staff: 4-H Wildlife Steward Summer Camp excels because of our trained and caring staff. With a staff to camper ratio of 1:3, a friendly camp community is created to help ensure everyone has a fun, safe, and engaging camp experience. Staff are carefully selected and trained. Our three person medical team includes a nurse, EMT and Nurse's assistant is available at all times on-site.
4-H Camp Leadership Program: Our 4-H Wildlife Stewards Camp Leadership program for youth in grades 7-12 is a top notch leadership program that guides middle and high schoolers through what it means to be a leader. The 8-year leadership program leads youth from ages 12-20 through a progressive leadership program that builds upon the previous year. All 4-H youth are carefully screened, trained, and then mentored by our adult staff.
