UPDATE: Due to COVID-19 concerns, Bee School 2020 is cancelled. We look forward to resuming in 2021, dates TBD. Please add your name to our interest list, and we will contact you when dates are finalized.
As part of our efforts to build taxonomic expertise in surveying Oregon's native bee population, the Oregon Bee Atlas offers an advanced five-day native bee survey and identification course held at Oregon State University in Corvallis, date TBD.
You do not have to be a member of the Oregon Bee Atlas to participate in this course. Our goal is to train people in basic bee taxonomy, who can then be leaders in their region through teaching others. The first session is designed for beginners with no prior experience, and is a prerequisite for the next session. The second session will cover advanced topics suited to someone who has experience with the Atlas or native bee taxonomy. For both sessions, we are looking for people committed for the long term who have a passion for teaching others and sharing the knowledge they have gained from the course.
