Effective Forest Roads: Keep legal, reduce costs & protect water quality

This mixed classroom & field workshop will help participants better manage their forest roads.
Use your road maintenance dollars effectively. Learn to assess your existing road for potential problems and prioritize repairs. Workshop covers maintenance and improvement techniques, water quality and aquatic habitat concerns, regulations, contracts, technical and financial assistance available to small woodland owners. The workshop starts in the morning with an indoor session, then will be in the field in the afternoon. Includes snacks and a copy of the book Managing Woodland Roads Field Guide.
Instructors are Francisca Belart, OSU Forestry & Natural Resources Extension (FNR) Extension harvest Specialist, Jon Sounder, OSU FNR Extension Watershed Specialist, Steve Kendall, ODF Stewardship Forester, Linn County, and Brad Withrow-Robinson, OSU FNR Extension agent for Benton, Linn and Polk Counties.
We will car pool from classroom to field site. Class size may be limited by the number of suitable vehicles. Please indicate if you are have a 4 wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle, and number of riders you could accommodate.
