The session will be taught by Glenda Hyde, OSU Extension Service community educator, and Master Food Preserver volunteers on Thursday, August 16th from 9:00 am-Noon. During the class, participants will learn about the selection and steps to safely can tomatoes with great quality. Then, the participants will have some fun preparing a jar of tomatoes and a jar of stewed tomatoes to take home and share with family and friends. Everyone will get up-to-date, tested recipes from reliable resources and tips on entering these preserved foods at the county fair. Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required by August 14th by calling 541-548-6088. Cost is $15.00, and can be paid the day of the class.
