4-H Teens as Teachers

4-H Teen Teacher Corps members undergo a 25 hour training in the Fall and are then placed in a community site where they help coach, teach, and mentor younger youth in one of three topic areas:

  • Agriculture and Food Systems
  • Cooking, Nutrition and Food Security
  • Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement

The 4-H Teen Teacher Corps program is designed to give teens the opportunity to give back to their community, learn important job skills, explore career paths and earn a small stipend. Now more than ever youth voice and youth action is needed in our communities to help find solutions to community problems.

Corps members strengthen communities one community at a time and develop leadership skills through direct, team-based service. 4-H Teen Corps help create a stronger future for our communities by mentoring younger youth in healthy food and healthy living.

Check out the video below from OSU 4-H that helps give you a better understanding of what 4-H Teen Teachers is all about.
