During this outdoor workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning on the farm. This workshop will cover how to ethically butcher, process, store, and label chickens in a manner that is compliant with the Oregon Department of Agriculture’s Direct Marketing of Poultry Laws. Attendees may choose to engage in the butchering and processing of a bird or observe and learn how to butcher and process in an ethical fashion. You can also take home a processed bird for an additional fee if you choose. This workshop is designed for community members who are interested in Direct Marketing Poultry, or for individuals who are interested in safely growing and processing poultry for personal use.
