In the Master Gardener™ program, you'll receive comprehensive training to equip you with research-based, sustainable gardening knowledge, which you will then share with your community as a volunteer through educational outreach. It's a fantastic way to contribute to the environment and support your local community.
The Master Gardener™ program is a volunteer-based initiative that provides comprehensive training in gardening and horticulture. Training consists of engaging classroom instruction complemented by hands-on workshops, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience. Beyond the initial training, numerous additional learning opportunities are available to support your ongoing growth. In-person classes are typically held from mid-January through April in St. Helens, OR, offering a supportive and enriching environment for all participants.
Cost of the program is $100.00 which includes a large resource book. Some scholarships are available. Master Gardener™ volunteers give back to the community by sharing their gardening knowledge, helping others learn and grow. This volunteer service is a meaningful way to apply what they’ve learned during training while supporting local gardening education.
Classes are delivered by recognized subject matter experts, who understand and uphold OSU’s commitment to science-based information and recognized best practices.
