Volunteer Resources
There are no current opportunities for Master Gardener recertification or local volunteer hours in Josephine County.
Until county funding is restored, providing for OSU Extension to increase services in Josephine County, county volunteers with a current Master Gardener certification have an opportunity to earn service hours by working directly with the statewide Master Gardener Program. By joining us at the state level, you will have direct, significant influence over such projects as:
- The 2025 relaunch of the nationally renowned Seed to Supper program
- A major revision of the Master Gardener training course curriculum
- Development and launch of a new community garden educator course that will train volunteers nationwide how to work with community partners to tackle food insecurity, food sovereignty, and climate resilience
- Interviewing gardeners around the state for our Garden Future initiative
- Supporting a new winter book club
- Revitalizing our Growing & Belonging initiative
- Coordinating the Master Gardener presence and activities at the Oregon State Fair
- Organizing for DAM Proud Day to help secure funding to continue our statewide work
- Planning for the 50th anniversary of the OSU Extension Master Gardener Program in 2026
