Certified Burn Manager Course | Sisters

Oregon State University and the Oregon Department of Forestry are hosting an Oregon Certified Burn Manager training course, April 7-10, 2025, at Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Station 701, 301 S Elm St, Sisters OR 97759. Classes start at 0900 on the 7th, and at 0800 thereafter. Classes conclude at approximately 1700 each day. The cost of enrollment is $75.

This course meets Oregon Department of Forestry instructional requirements for CBM certification. It includes an opportunity to complete the CBM written test. Anticipate a combination of classroom presentations, group exercises and field-based activities. The course is best suited for persons who have at least some fire suppression and prescribed fire experience. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of, and experience with, fire behavior, construction of control lines, fire suppression tactics, and the equipment common to prescribed fires.
