This month, we'll take a deep dive into the forest of compost to learn how microbes build compost and what they will do for you, your soil and your garden. We know that compost is full of microbes but have you ever wondered why and what they do and how they do it?
About the Presenter: Rodney Bloom has been an advocate, educator, and implementor of composting in Eugene and the greater community for over 20 years. At Food for Lane County he created and maintained the systems that transformed their unusable and spoiled foods into rich compost. He has traveled to New Orleans, Senegal, and Ethiopia introducing composting methods to save and rebuild depleted and contaminated soils. Rodney works towards the goal that everyone will have access to fresh, safe, nutrient-dense, affordable food.
