The Lane County Livestock & Forages Breakfast meets the second Monday of each month (September–May) from 6:30–8 a.m.

A collaboration between Lane County Livestock Association and OSU Extension Service


  • September 12: Cattle Markets and Eugene Livestock Auction Update on Changes. Speaker is Mr. Leon Birky who with his wife Chloe operates the Eugene Livestock Auction.
  • October 10: Endophytes and Ergots in Forages. Speaker is Dr. Jennifer M. Duringer, Director of the Endophyte Service Laboratory, Department of Environmental & Molecular Toxicology at OSU
  • November 14: Irrigation Systems for Forage Production. Tye Fountain and Ted Howard of Pacific Ag are coming to talk about their stores and various irrigation systems that are available. Tye is founder of Pacific Ag and is a walking expert on irrigation systems. Ted came to Pacific Ag a couple years ago from farm equipment back ground. They get to the right answer very quickly.

NEW LOCATION - Elmer’s Restaurant at 1036 Valley River Way near the Valley River Inn and Valley River Shopping Center

Meet in the bar area of the restaurant where there is ample room for social distancing. Please arrive promptly to get your breakfast ordered so the presentation can get started. Our speakers vary from month-to-month, but we always talk livestock and forages. We learn and share about animal nutrition, management, health, and marketing, along with novel and routine forages, fertilizing, grazing, haying, weed control and more.
