Learn the steps to grow natives for your own yard! The class will cover the art and science behind the process, as well as the legal responsibilities of gathering native plants/seeds. Resources will be available to help you research the different techniques and seasons that are best suited for different types of plants. Participants go home with their own native plant propagated in class!

About the presenter:

Shirley Betournay is a retired educator with 38 years’ service, and after retiring, became a Master Gardener in 2012. Shirley teaches many community classes as a Master Gardener volunteer, including plant propagation, adaptive/accessible gardening, vegetable gardening, mason bees, and more. In her garden, she enjoys propagating plants for the annual Master Gardener Plant Sale, as well as her yearlong pollinator/vegetable garden.
