Are you dreaming of vine-ripened tomatoes yet? Let us help make it a reality this summer!

This class is the first of four sessions on tomatoes, each is perfectly timed for what you need to know. The first session focuses on variety selection and seed starting. Future sessions will cover planting, cultural practices (watering, fertilizing, pruning, etc.), and disease management.

We begin with strategies for selecting among the thousands of available varieties so you enjoy a long season of harvest.

Then we show you, step-by-step, how to start tomatoes from seeds. Using images and videos, we will cover how to select growing media, when to sow seeds, what supplies are needed, how to care for seedlings, and how to minimize diseases.

Our speaker Amelia Wilbur is an Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener who teaches for the award-winning 10-Minute University™ Program. She and her husband once co-owned a tomato grafting business and annually grow 500 pounds of tomatoes.
