You saw mason bees filling holes last spring. Now's the time to harvest and see what really happened inside those holes! Fall mason bee cocoon harvesting is an important time to mitigate pests and to help bees preserve higher levels of energy for spring emergence.

Bring your own filled blocks or tubes to this Mason Bee Cocoon Harvesting Class and learn how to help support this solitary, super pollinating bee throughout its lifecycle!

This class will include:

  • Learn the lifecycle of Mason Bees
  • When and how to store cocoons from June to October
  • How to harvest and clean cocoons, ridding them of disease and pests
  • How to store after cleaning until spring release
  • When and how to release in the spring

There is a $10 registration fee for the 2-hour class. Registrants who attend will be given a $10 coupon to use towards purchasing bee supplies or books at the class.
