Four Rivers 4-H camp needs youth Counselors
We are looking youth in grades 9-12 to be camp counselors for the 2019 Four Rivers 4-H overnight camp in Salem, Oregon.
Camp will be held June 21–June 26, 2019 (Friday - Wednesday), with counselors arriving on Thursday, June 20, 2019. We are aware that Summer Conference begins on Wednesday, June 26, and will strive to make it possible for applicants to attend both events.
We have a new online application (http://bit.ly/4Rivers4HCounselors) process this year!
If you have an account on the ideal-logic registration system you may use your previous login and password to begin applying. If you do not have an account you will need to register to create one. Once registered you may begin the application process.
First year counselors will be required to provide two non-family references. If you have already been a counselor in the past, you will not be required to obtain any references. Applications need to be completed and submitted online by Monday, February 18, 2019. We are also recruiting applicants for Junior volunteer staff (college age or older who do behind the scenes work at camp and support counselors).
All applicants, new and returning, will need to attend the Counselor Selection Day on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Benton County Extension Office (4077 SW Research Way, Corvallis, OR 97333). Returning counselor applicants that cannot attend may interview with their local 4-H Agent. Selection preference is given to those who attend in person on March 2, 2019.
The selected counselors and alternates must also participate in overnight counselor training Saturday-Sunday, May 4-5, 2019 at the Oregon 4-H Center in Salem. There is no cost for trainings.
If you are able to commit to all of the requirements (attend selection day, counselor training and the week of camp) we welcome your application. If you have any questions please contact Carolyn Ashton (https://extension.oregonstate.edu/people/carolyn-ashton).
