How should I water my potatoes?
We are now proud owners of a very nice house in Hood River, with some rows of potatoes that are not automatically irrigated. I would like to install some drip irrigation, but where do I place it? In the ditches or on the hill? I am not even sure which green leaves showing up are potatoes, but hopefully I am guessing correctly. Can you give me some advice?
The goal of watering potatoes is to get the water source as close to the roots as possible without getting water on the leaves. If you can get your drip system to snake around the plants, the water should reach enough roots to provide adequate hydration.
