How can we save the squirrels?

Recently, when I drove on the road, I saw a squirrel died in the road almost every day! How can we help them avoid being hit by cars?

Unfortunately, squirrels' high-speed, unpredictable movements make them very vulnerable to being killed on roads. Also adding to the risk is their diurnal (daytime) activity cycle, when we humans and our cars are most likely to be moving fast on those surfaces. This is a busy time for squirrels and other animals as they store up acorns and other foods to get them through the winter. The best thing we can do is to be aware of their frenzied food-gathering and to moderate our speeds while on our roads.
