Cathy Haas is the Director and Program Leader of 4-H Youth Development at Oregon State University. Cathy has worked in youth development for 25 years with nonprofit organizations, university youth-serving camps, community parks and recreation and now the OSU Extension Service. Cathy earned her B.A. from the University of Oregon with a major in Sociology and a minor in Political Science. While attending University of Oregon, Cathy interned in the Oregon State Legislature and attended a language immersion program at the Universidad del Sol in Cuernavaca Mexico. Cathy continued her education earning an M.S. from California State University Sacramento and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Cathy is an avid traveler and has visited over 35 U.S. states and over 40 different countries. Favorite leisure activities include reading, cross country skiing and hiking.
