Office Phone

Greg O’Neill is a pest management practitioner, contributing research expertise to generate efficacy, crop safety and pesticide crop residue data to support production and trade related needs of specialty crop growers. Employment tenures with a multi-national pesticide company, a private contract research organization and most recently with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC similar to USDA) have provided a comprehensive understanding of pesticide research, development and registration activities related to the complexities of pesticides labelling and usage. The North Willamette Research and Extension Center (NWREC) is the home of the national IR-4 project in Oregon that provides specialty crops with pest management solutions. Prior to joining the NWREC as the IR-4 Field Center Director, Greg served as a Study Director with AAFC where he was responsible for developing data packages in order to make submissions to regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Pest Management Regulatory Agency to register new uses of pesticides concurrently in both the United States and Canada.  The IR-4 project collaborates with commodity commissions, growers, pesticide registrants, state, federal and international organizations to ensure specialty crop grower needs are addressed in order to maximize market opportunities, to support environmental stewardship efforts and to promote integrated pest management strategies. The IR-4 project has over 50 years of successfully providing specialty crop growers with pest management solutions; a legacy that Greg is committed to continue via engagement with all specialty crop growers and associated government departments in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
