I am a life-long lover of growing, harvesting, marketing and cooking with local food. After moving with my husband Patrick and two young sons from Portland to the Coast Range foothills in 2010, I co-founded the Clatskanie Farmers Market with a commitment to help my community rebound into a center of agricultural diversity, prosperity and self-reliance. I came to work at OSU Extension in Columbia County in 2017, and hold an advanced design certificate in Permaculture, am a trained Master Gardener Volunteer and Oregon Master Naturalist, and have a B.S. in Horticulture. I have applied my education to my own sustainable homestead where I raise produce, rabbits, dairy goats and various poultry. In addition to the work I do for OSU, teaching plant/insect ID and coordinating the Master Gardener Program, I also handle the business operations in our local extension office. My volunteer work with the Oregon Farmers Markets Association brings me great joy as I work to connect our local farmers markets with vendors and shoppers around the state. Contact me with questions about small farms, farmers markets, and the OSU Master Gardener Program in Columbia County!
