Dry Farm Field Day at OSU Vegetable Research Farm
4306 NE Electric Rd
Corvallis, OR 97333
The Vegetable Research Farm field site consists of an acre planted in field corn, dry beans, winter squash and melons, and includes a large irrigated section for comparison. The primary focus of this site is to test the potential benefits of using microbial inoculants in dry farming, in a project led by OSU Postdoctoral Fellow Lucas Nebert. Additionally, participants will learn about ongoing bean and melon variety trials, a dry farmed dent corn breeding project, and efforts to optimize planting density in dry farming! This will be a drop-in style event with one 30 minute guided field tour starting promptly at 5pm.
